Class Session

Bexley Hall Seminary is an accredited seminary of the Episcopal Church in the United States (ECUSA) located in Rochester, New York. The Columbus campus is now an accredited extension site for the awarding of the M.Div. degree. This program is available to postulants for holy orders in the Episcopal Church, churches in communion with the See of Canterbury, and churches in ecumenical dialog with the Episcopal Church.




Class Session Bexley Hall also offers a Certificate of Anglican Studies to students registered at Trinity in other degree programs and Anglican students from non-Episcopal seminaries who need additional Anglican formation. The goal of the Bexley M.Div. and the Anglican Studies concentration is to provide an Anglican formation for seminarians as well as to prepare them in the seven canonical areas specified by the Episcopal Church for the General Ordination Examination: Holy Scripture; Church History with Ecumenism and Mission; Christian Theology; Liturgy and Church Music; Ethics and Moral Theology; Theory and Practice of Ministry; and Contemporary Society.

Anglican Formation* replaces 3 electives


* Anglican Formation will be accorded 1 credit hour per quarter over nine quarters (i.e., the equivalent of three elective courses. The Trinity Lutheran Seminary Master of Divinity degree requires 24 elective credits. According to the above schema, Bexley Hall Anglican Certificate seminarians will have 6 credit hours (or three courses) open for electives.
