Register Now for Summer Term

Registration for the 2010 Summer Term is now underway. The term begins June 7, 2010, with one- and three-week courses in music, Bible, theology, and Christian Education, as well as special learning opportunities provided by Healthy Congregations Inc. Students may also register for Summer Greek, which begins July 6 and runs through August 20. Click here for a complete list of courses and a registration form.

Program Promotes Interfaith Dialogue

Trinity Lutheran Seminary will host an interfaith program called "Covenantal Conversations: Christians in Dialogue with Jews and Judaism," from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 16.

The featured speaker is the Rev. John Stendahl, pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Newtons in Newton, Massachusetts, and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Consultative Panel on Lutheran-Jewish Relations. Stendahl, a native of Sweden and graduate of Harvard and Yale, played a key role in the 1994 Declaration to the Jewish Community, a repudiation of Martin Luther’s anti-Judaic writings.

Professor Peterson Attends Global Consultation in Germany


The Rev. Dr. Cheryl Peterson, assistant professor of systematic theology, joined more than 100 theologians in Augsburg, Germany, March 25-31, 2009, for a global consultation sponsored by the Lutheran World Federation’s Department for Theology and Studies. The consultation, “Theology in the Life of Lutheran Churches: Transformative Perspectives and Practices Today,” concluded a series of seminars introduced in 2006.
